Savannah, Georgia
Whether you're buying a boat, updating your insurance, or need a fair market appraisal, Marshall Marine Surveying provides reliable, thorough marine surveys in Savannah and surrounding coastal Georgia.
What is a Marine Survey?
A Marine Survey is an in-depth examination of your boat, conducted to assess its condition, value, and seaworthiness. Often required by insurance providers or financial institutions, a survey ensures the vessel’s condition and valuation are accurate.
The Surveyor examines: Structural Integrity, Electrical Systems, Propulsion, Steering, Engine Performance, Fuel System, Navigation Equipment, Electronics, Sanitation, Safety Equipment and Cosmetics.
Why Do I Need a Marine Survey?
A Marine Surveyor determines if your boat meets safety criteria set forth by The American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC), Federal Code of Regulations (FCR), and National Fire Protection Association (NPA). The findings uncovered by a Marine Surveyor will determine the true value of the subject vessel and is often used as a negotiation tool.
How Much Does a Marine Survey Cost?
Our rates vary based on the survey type and vessel specifications. Most clients recoup the cost of a pre-purchase survey through negotiation leverage or avoided repair surprises, making it a wise investment. Rates listed apply to fiberglass powerboats (2015 or newer) under 50 feet. Travel fees may apply.
